The goal is to keep this a fun, safe and enjoyable event for the entire family and people of all abilities.

That said, there are a few things we need to make sure everyone understands.
  1. This is a FUN run/walk. It is not a sanctioned or timed event. There aren't race numbers. Prizes will not be awarded for finishing times. If your personal time is important to you, we suggest you line up with the front group and keep your own time. And of course, everyone should please be respectful of the pace and abilities of everyone on the course.
  2. This event is put on completely by a small group of volunteers who cared a lot about Jeremy. Volunteers are human, thus subject to err. Please keep these things in mind if something doesn't go the way you expected. We will do our very best to make this a great night for all if everyone does the same.

Other things to know...

  • The course will start at the tent next to the Riverwalk in the lot next door to Dockside Tavern and finish along Nebraska St. near the drive entrance to Dockside Tavern.
  • While safety and course officials will do our very best to create a safe course, it is important to remember the course is AT NIGHT along a Riverwalk open to the water and along public roads, occasionally with traffic. EVERYONE needs to wear bright clothing (preferably with reflective features) and use safety lighting so they are visible along the course. Anyone that is deemed insufficiently visible may be prohibited from participating for their own safety and the safety of the other participants.
  • The course will be staffed with community patrol and other volunteers along the course. They are there to guide participants and to help in other ways including safety. Please abide by their directions. Anyone failing to adhere to the direction of course patrol will be eliminated from participation and not allowed at subsequent events.
  • The course, including intersections and roads, will be opened back to the public at 8:00 PM. At that time, course patrol volunteers will also leave the area. Any runner or walker still on any part of the course after 8:00 PM will no longer be considered a participant.
  • Music is a big part of this event, however for your safety, the use of personal music players with headphones should not be used while on the course.
  • This is a family friendly event for all ages. Running with strollers is prohibited by our liability requirements, however walking with strollers or wagons is allowed.
  • This is a family friendly event and pets can often be an important part of the family, however for liability purposes no animals will be allowed on the course or subsequent events.
  • No unregistered participants will be allowed on the course during the course closure.
  • Minors age 17 and under must participate with an adult. Participants under the age of 21 years are allowed at the After Glow Party at the City Center Atrium, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Anyone under 21 without supervision will be required to leave. The Encore Concert held at Dockside Tavern following the After Glow is for adults 21 and over only.
  • We understand event parking can be a challenge. We've tried to do our best to highlight areas where sufficient parking will be available to participants. See the course map for parking suggestions. Event coordinators are not responsible for parking security or expenses from a result of your choice where to park. Park at your own risk.
